Free color by number pages to print
Print these color by number pages for the classroom, a quiet corner at home or a rainy afternoon. Each page is a black-and-white picture on US Letter paper with a small number in every shape and a color key at the bottom: 1 is red, 2 is orange and so on. A child finds the number, picks the crayon and colors the shape in. Every page uses six crayons or fewer, so one small box is enough, and you can download them all in one free PDF with no sign-up.

Ways to use them
- Hand one out as a calm-down activity before a break. The numbers tell children exactly where to start, so no one has to decide what to color first.
- Use them for early number recognition: ask which number is the reindeer's nose, and which crayon matches it.
- Print the answer key next to the page for children who like to check, or keep it back and let them find out as they go.
- Let older children make their own version afterwards: color the page any way they like and compare it with the key.
Make a page of your own
- Upload a photo of a pet, a toy, a drawing or an object, and Color a Picture turns it into a coloring page.
- Or describe a page in words in the studio. A teddy bear in the snow with a scarf is a good one to try.
- Print it on ordinary letter-size paper.
Questions
- Are these color by number pages free?
- Yes. The pages and the pack on this page are free to print and need no account. If you want a page made from your own photo, your first one needs no account either, and if you sign up you get 5 free credits. One credit makes one page.
- What age are they for?
- The shapes are large and each page has between six and about thirty numbers, so they suit ages 4 to 8. Younger children can color along with a grown-up, and older children enjoy checking their page against the answer key.
- How do the numbers and colors match?
- The color key at the bottom of each page shows a numbered box and the crayon name under it, for example 1 is red and 4 is green. Some shapes, such as snow or a face, have no number: leave them white.
- Can I use them in my classroom?
- Yes. Print as many copies as you need for your classroom or your home. Please do not sell the pages or repost the pack as your own.
